Scientists explore brain's reaction to potent hallucinogen

Brain-imaging studies performed in animals at the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Brookhaven National Laboratory provide researchers with clues about why an increasingly popular recreational drug that causes hallucinations and motor-function impairment in humans is abused.

Alendronate combined with calcium and vitamin D almost completely prevented further bone loss in the first 4 months afte liver transplant

A new study found that the drug used to treat osteoporosis, when used in combination with calcium and vitamin D, can prevent the additional bone loss that commonly occurs after liver transplants. The treatment also helped stabilize bone loss in patients who already had osteoporosis, and helped improve their bone mineral density (BMD).

Inflection Biosciences signs license agreement with CNIO to develop kinase inhibitors for cancer treatment

Inflection Biosciences Ltd, a private company focused on the development of targeted small molecule treatments for cancer, today announced that it has entered into a license agreement with the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) for the exclusive, worldwide rights to develop and commercialise several novel kinase inhibitors for the treatment of cancer.
