Mylan introduces Cyclobenzaprine HCl ER Capsules, a muscle relaxant

Mylan Inc. today announced that its subsidiary Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. has launched Cyclobenzaprine Hydrochloride (HCl) Extended-release (ER) Capsules, 15 mg and 30 mg. Mylan was the first company to have filed a substantially complete ANDA containing a Paragraph IV certification for Cyclobenzaprine HCl ER Capsules and was awarded 180 days of marketing exclusivity.

Panel of 10 serum protein biomarkers could help in lung cancer diagnosis

A panel of serum biomarkers could help predict the level of lung cancer risk in high-risk patients, offering doctors an option before proceeding with a biopsy. Research presented in the April 2012 issue of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer's (IASLC) Journal of Thoracic Oncology shows that a panel of 10 serum protein biomarkers could help in the lung cancer diagnosis.

Scientists at the University of Granada have confirmed that injecting a local anesthetic or botulinum toxin (botox) into certain points named "trigger points" of the pericraneal and neck muscles reduce migraine frequency among migraine sufferers. University of Granada researchers have identified the location of these trigger points -which activation results in migraine- and their relationship with the duration and severity of this condition.
