The Global Alliance for TB Drug Development (TB Alliance), a not-for-profit, product development partnership leading the development of new and affordable tuberculosis (TB) drugs, announced today a new grant and pledge of up to $40 million over the next five years from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

It's a provocative question, and one that a multidisciplinary team from the Slone Epidemiology Center at Boston University, the University of North Carolina Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and Roswell Park Cancer Institute are coming together to address, supported by a five-year, $19.3 million award from the National Cancer Institute.

Rakesh Pilkar, Ph.D., a post-doctoral fellow in Human Performance and Engineering Research at Kessler Foundation, was awarded a R03, $153,000 grant by the National Institutes of Health to study the response levels to function electrical stimulation (FES) interventions in the rehabilitation of stroke patients-titled, "Identification of Responders to the FES Interventions in Stroke Populations".

Study shows caregivers' allergy perceptions are not always accurate

It's tough being the parent of a child with food allergies. Constant vigilance is needed for everything your child eats, when a single food item containing a hidden ingredient can be fatal.
