Advanced Cardiac Therapeutics, Inc., a developer of innovative temperature-sensing cardiac ablation systems, today announced that the first patients have been enrolled in a first-in-man CE Mark clinical trial of the safety and performance of the company's TEMPASURE™ cardiac ablation catheter. The TEMPASURE system is the world's first RF cardiac ablation catheter to offer both saline irrigation and temperature-sensing technology.
Combining two chemotherapy drugs for advanced gallbladder and bile duct cancer improves survival by a third, according to results from a Cancer Research UK funded trial presented today at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) conference.
Mylan Inc. today announced that its subsidiary Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. has received final approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) for Nifedipine Extended-release Tablets USP, 30 mg, 60 mg and 90 mg, the generic version of Bayer's Adalat® CC Tablets, a treatment for hypertension.
Despite the disappointing results in trying to treat children suffering from type 1 diabetes with the GAD vaccine, the treatment has not been written off entirely. DIAPREV-IT, the study in which healthy high-risk children are vaccinated, is continuing as planned, and now with more money behind it. "I am still hopeful that the GAD vaccine will work", says Helena Elding Larsson.
