Recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that excessive drinking is responsible for approximately 79,000 deaths annually in the United States. Binge drinking accounts for more than half of those deaths. A new study has looked at the frequency of binge drinking in relation to drinkers' own perceptions of their overall health status.
Comprehensive Health Services, Inc. (CHS), a leading national workforce health management company specializing in onsite health care solutions, received a coveted accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) for two of its new HybridHealthSM onsite health centers. In just thirteen months from the completion of construction to their accreditation, the Choose Health Wellness Center at Hewitt Associates in Lincolnshire, Illinois, as well as an onsite health center at a company in Texas, accomplished top ratings in all AAAHC's core standards.
With new funding from The Mayday Fund, a Saint Louis University researcher will leverage her discovery of a pain pathway to determine if either of two key molecules can be used as biomarkers for pain associated with four debilitating health conditions: chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy, endometriosis, interstitial cystitis and vulvodynia.
CeltiCare today announced that the Commonwealth has accepted its proposal to manage healthcare services for Aliens with Special Status (AWSS). This population has been enrolled in the Commonwealth Care insurance program (Commonwealth Care) run by the Massachusetts Health Connector.
A federal district judge in Florida backed down, as he should have, from his effort to bully the Obama administration into halting implementation of the new health care reforms even before the issue of the law's constitutionality is resolved by higher courts.
