The cholesteryl ester transfer protein gene appears to increase susceptibility to neovascular age-related macular degeneration and polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy, research shows.
A Jackson Laboratory research team led by Professor and Howard Hughes Medical Investigator Susan Ackerman, Ph.D., has discovered a defect in the RNA splicing process in neurons that may contribute to neurological disease.
For patients with ovarian cancer and their physicians, resistance to chemotherapy is a serious concern. However, researchers at Moffitt Cancer Center have identified a molecular pathway that may play a key role in the evolution of chemotherapy resistance.
The GSMA-mHA Mobile Health Summit will be hosted in Cape Town, South Africa on 29th May – 1st June 2012. Taking advantage of the global reach of the GSMA and mHealth Alliance, this year's summit will demonstrate the commercial scale and sustainability of mobile health initiatives.
