The Cell Therapy Catapult, the UK organisation dedicated to the growth of the UK cell and gene therapy industry by bridging the gap between scientific research and commercialisation, the University of Birmingham and Cancer Research Technology, the commercialisation arm of Cancer Research UK, announces today the launch of a collaboration to develop a new immuno-oncology cellular therapy based on gene modifying T cells to target solid tumours.
Researchers in the U.S. have found that the same brain circuits are involved when obese people fill their stomachs as when drug addicts think about drugs and the discovery they say suggests an association between overeating and addiction.
According to a new policy analysis led by researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) and the University of California, Berkeley, the most common HIV prevention strategies-condom promotion, HIV testing, treatment of other sexually transmitted infections (STIs), vaccine and microbicide research, and abstinence-are having a limited impact on the predominantly heterosexual epidemics found in Africa.
A new study published yesterday in Neurology, the online medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology, Neurology, suggested that consuming about one serving of leafy vegetables per day may be associated with a slower rate of brain aging.
Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), also known as coronary angioplasty or angioplasty, is a procedure used to treat acute coronary syndromes. PCI involves opening a blocked blood vessel by threading and inflating a balloon-tipped tube into the vessel. Sometimes a stent is also inserted to keep the blood vessel open.
