Unions and some lawmakers are continuing their efforts to have a government-run public plan included in health reform legislation.
New research suggests that chronic fatigue syndrome does not occur as a result of infection with xenotropic murine leukemia virus-related virus or polytropic murine leukemia virus.
Individuals with diabetes may have a higher risk of developing mild cognitive impairment, a condition that involves difficulties with thinking and learning and may be an intermediate step toward Alzheimer's disease, according to a report in the April issue of Archives of Neurology, one of the JAMA/Archives journals.
A new study of 3050 twins finds moderately vigorous physical activity - i.e., more strenuous than walking - to be associated with better cognition in a 25-year follow-up.
The Ontario government must fund hospitals adequately and take a number of very concrete steps to save precious health care resources, a union representing 30,000 hospital and long-term care employees told a pre-budget provincial parliamentary committee this morning.
