A study led by researchers from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory has found for the first time that thirdhand smoke-the noxious residue that clings to virtually all surfaces long after the secondhand smoke from a cigarette has cleared out-causes significant genetic damage in human cells.
Nutrition Science Initiative has launched the first-ever randomized, controlled clinical trial to determine whether removing added sugars from the diet can halt or even reverse nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in children.
The University of Houston (UH) department of history will host a symposium featuring a new book by UH professor Todd Romero, "Making War and Minting Christians: Masculinity, Religion, and Colonialism in Early New England," on Thursday, Sept. 8 at 4 p.m. in the Rockwell Pavilion at the M.D. Anderson Library.
