In humans, active periods of the debilitating disease Multiple Sclerosis (MS) can last for mere minutes or extend to weeks at a time. They're caused by lesions in the brain that develop, partly heal, and then recur. Research into a cure has been difficult, because to date scientists have not been able to replicate these brain recurring symptoms in laboratory mice. That's frustrating because these lab animals, known as animal "models," are the primary tool for research into the mechanisms and potential treatments for MS.
The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF) recently became an active partner in the battle against a cholera epidemic in Haiti that has reportedly infected an estimated 600,000 people and left more than 2,400 dead.
DGT Holdings Corp. announced today that it has completed the previously announced reverse stock split at a ratio of one-for-fifty and a forward stock split at a ratio of four-for-one. All shareholders owning fewer than fifty shares and all fractional shares remaining following the forward stock split have been cancelled and shareholders will receive a cash payment based on the ten day average closing price of the common stock prior to the splits.
As science slowly, but continually, unravels the causes of disorders, it increasingly teases apart biological threads that, when spooled together, begin to take on the warp and weft of separate disorders.
Researchers from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital discovered that blockages in the right coronary artery and those in bending areas of the coronary artery are the most common places for coronary dissection, a tear in the artery that can occur during balloon angioplasty of the coronary arteries.
