Scientists from the Florida campus of The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) have uncovered a group of what have been considered relatively minor regulators in the body that band together to suppress the spread of cancer from its primary site.
After shutting down in the spring, America's empty gyms are beckoning a cautious public back for a workout. To reassure wary customers, owners have put in place — and now advertise — a variety of coronavirus control measures.
CareTech Solutions, an information technology and Web products and services provider for more than 150 U.S. hospitals will unveil its new brand identity on Monday, Feb. 21 as an exhibitor at HIMSS11, the Health Information and Management Systems Society's Annual Conference and Exhibition in Orlando, Fla. CareTech's new market positioning reflects the company's intent to be the expert health IT resource for U.S. hospitals and health systems.
DPP-4 inhibitors are a group of drugs used to treat type 2 diabetes that lower high blood sugar levels by stimulating insulin production in the body. Researchers at Lund University in Sweden have now discovered that DPP-4 inhibitors are also effective against low blood sugar levels.
Water diffusion measurements with MRI could decrease false-positive breast cancer results and reduce preventable biopsies, according to a new study published online in the journal Radiology. Researchers said the technique also could improve patient management by differentiating high-risk lesions requiring additional workup from other non-malignant subtypes.
