A new study reveals that 4 in 10 people who have peanut allergies choose not to consume tree nuts, despite not having allergies to these nuts. The study titled, "Real world tree nut consumption in peanut-allergic individuals," was published in Annals of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology in the latest issue. The journal is the scientific journal of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI).
As part of its commitment to support research and learning around customer service and the patient experience in healthcare, The Beryl Institute, based in Bedford, Texas, has established The Beryl Institute Patient Experience Grant Program.
Cytheris SA, a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company focused on research and development of new therapies for immune modulation, today announced that it has begun enrolling patients in INSPIRE 3, a Phase II clinical program evaluating the effect of repeated cycles of the company's investigative immune-modulator, recombinant human Interleukin-7 (CYT107), in the treatment of chronically HIV-1 infected patients classified as Immunological Non-Responders (INR) after at least 24 months of highly active anti-retroviral therapy (HAART).
"The effects of cognitive training in dementia patients have been studied actively during recent decades but the quality and reliability of the studies varies," says licenced neuropsychologist Eeva-Liisa Kallio. She reviewed 31 randomized controlled trials on cognitive training in dementia patients.
