The Vascular Disease Foundation is seeking nominations for research awards through its Peripheral Arterial Disease and Venous Disease Coalitions. Research awards recognize the important research relevant to the understanding and/or treatment of arterial and venous diseases.
Rather than stimulating immune cells to more effectively battle cancerous tumors, treatment with the protein interleukin-12 (IL-12) has the opposite effect, driving these intracellular fighters to exhaustion, a Mayo Clinic study has found.
Children with later-onset spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) were more likely to show gains in motor function when treated with a new medication compared to children receiving a sham procedure, according to a study published today in the New England Journal of Medicine.
In a new clinical trial, UC Davis Health will test the effectiveness and safety of REGN-COV2, the monoclonal antibody cocktail, in preventing COVID-19 in adults living with infected patients.
Researchers have successfully tried a biodegradable bridge like device (biodegradable polycaprolactone PCL conduit) in vivo for management of nerve injuries. The team published their findings in a paper titled, "Long-gap peripheral nerve repair through sustained release of a neurotrophic factor in nonhuman primates," in the latest issue of the journal Science Translational Medicine.
