The National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health announced the launch of Estrogen Therapy I.Q. a campaign devoted to improving access to credible information about menopause and advances in estrogen therapy.
People with mental illness have gotten a bad rap in past research studies, being labeled the group of people with the highest return rates to prison. But a researcher from the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University counters those findings in a new study-demonstrating that inmates with severe mental illnesses alone actually have lower rates of recidivism than those with substance abuse issues or no mental or substance abuse issues.
According to the Institute of Medicine, more than 90 million Americans suffer from low health literacy-, a mismatch between patients' abilities to understand healthcare information and providers' abilities to communicate complex medical information in an understandable manner.
A test that detects antibodies against Zika virus in samples of blood serum with high specificity - and hence a low risk of cross-reaction with related microorganisms such as dengue virus - is set to come on to the Brazilian market before 2018 is out.
