National and international policies restricting the pesticides that are most toxic to humans may have a major impact on world suicides, according to new research from the University of Bristol published this week in the International Journal of Epidemiology (IJE).
With the number of global cancer cases expected to increase by more than 50 percent by 2030, researchers around the globe have collaborated to create a new tool for global leaders to determine what actions they must take to better control cancer.
Mary R. Loeken, Ph.D., Investigator in the Section on Islet Cell and Regenerative Biology at Joslin Diabetes Center and Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, has discovered a molecular pathway responsible for neural tube defects in diabetic pregnancies. Her latest research findings in this pathway were published in the October issue of Diabetes.
Sigma-Aldrich Corporation today announced it has entered into an exclusive agreement with the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute to manufacture and distribute the Sanger Institute's arrayed lentiviral CRISPR library. The library will be the first of its kind, providing researchers with a collection of individual clones designed to knock out every known human and mouse protein-coding gene using the CRISPR system.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology has released a suite of green tea reference materials to help manufacturers evaluate the composition of their products and assure researchers of the accuracy of analytical methods for studying the human health effects of this popular beverage and dietary supplement.
