Emergent BioSolutions Inc. today announced that it has received a multi-year grant from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the National Institutes of Health, to advance the development of MVA85A, a candidate vaccine against tuberculosis.
BioBehavioral Diagnostics (BioBDx), a privately held company which manufactures and markets the Quotient™ ADHD System, a tool that aids in the objective and accurate assessment of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), announced today the first close of a $10 million Series B financing.
Arcapita, a global investment company, announced today that Atlanta-based CardioMEMS, an Arcapita Ventures portfolio company, has entered into an equity investment and option to purchase agreement with St. Jude Medical, a global medical device company.
A study to be published in the February 2016 issue of the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry reports that adolescents chronically victimized during at least two school years, are about five times more at risk of thinking about suicide and 6 times more at risk of attempting suicide at 15 years compared to those who were never victimized.
Cancers arise in the body all the time. Most are nipped in the bud by the immune response, not least by its T cells, which detect telltale molecular markers-or antigens-on cancer cells and destroy them before they grow into tumors.
