With a generous donation from Give them a Hand Foundation and JetBlue, a registered nurse from New Jersey is headed to Haiti this evening the Embassy of Haiti and Greater Washington Haiti Relief Committee (GWHRC) announced today.
An unpleasant postoperative procedure for thyroid cancer patients who have had their thyroid glands surgically removed may be unnecessary for most patients, according to Washington University researchers at Siteman Cancer Center and Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Researchers screened the most popular medical dramas and found that doctors and nurses on the shows responded inappropriately to seizures almost half the time, according to a study released today that will be presented at the American Academy of Neurology's 62nd Annual Meeting in Toronto April 10 to April 17, 2010.
The strategy used by the Oropouche virus to replicate in human cells has been described for the first time by researchers at the University of São Paulo in Brazil and international collaborators in an article published in the journal PLOS Pathogens.
