Neurotechnology, a provider of high-precision biometric identification technologies, has released new versions of the company's core product Software Development Kits (SDKs) for fingerprint, face, iris and multi-biometric identification. The latest SDK versions, VeriFinger 6.1, VeriLook 3.3, VeriEye 2.1 and MegaMatcher 3.0, provide enhanced interoperability, reliability and ease-of-maintenance over previous versions.
Today, the Association of Clinical Research Organizations (ACRO) unveiled findings from a groundbreaking survey exploring the decline in physician participation in clinical research across the United States and Western European markets at the 46th Drug Information Association (DIA) annual meeting. Over the past decade, the number of physicians participating in clinical research has continued to decrease in the U.S. and countries in Western Europe while participation increased at double digit rates in Asia, Latin America and Central/Eastern Europe.
Researchers at the Northwest Institute of Plateau Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences have put forward the viewpoint for the first time that adaptive functional evolution may occur in the leptin protein of the pika (Ochotona) family, a typical cold-adaptive mammal.
A $1.5 million federal grant will help Michigan State University increase the number of Hispanic doctoral students trained in the neurosciences.
In a straightforward decision, a Federal Appeals Court has upheld a preliminary injunction against the FDA to stop the seizure of the electronic cigarette as it enters the country to suppliers that retail them to the smoking public.
