University of British Columbia researchers have led an international team in developing a new test to better diagnose different types of ovarian cancer, a tool that could one day guide and improve treatment options for women diagnosed with the most common and deadliest form of the disease.
The consumption of foods with higher scores on the British Food Standards Agency nutrient profiling system (FSAm-NPS), reflecting a lower nutritional quality, is associated with an increased risk of developing cancer, according to a study published this week in PLOS Medicine.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today approved Yervoy to treat patients with late-stage melanoma, the most dangerous type of skin cancer.
In the meantime, insurers say they want government money to help people that buy catastrophic plans to keep premiums for them low. Also, the employer mandate comes under further attack and one insurer calls members to manage their health.
