The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today approved Alecensa (alectinib) to treat people with advanced (metastatic) ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) whose disease has worsened after, or who could not tolerate treatment with, another therapy called Xalkori (crizotinib).
Elastin and collagen serve as the body's building blocks. They provide tensile strength and elasticity for a number of organs, muscles and tissues. Any genetic mutation short-circuiting their function can have a devastating, and often lethal, health impact.
Paragon Bioservices, a Baltimore-based CMO focused on the contract research, process development and manufacturing of biologics, announced today that it has been awarded a $4.99 million contract to assist the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute for Infectious Diseases in its vaccine development efforts.
