New research suggests that even a diet that is low in red or processed meat can increase the risk of death compared to those following a vegetarian diet.
Researchers from Lund University Sweden have through a new diagnostic method been able to show that the risk of developing Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease could be twice as high for women as it is for men.
Pharmacyclics, Inc. announced today that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has granted an additional Breakthrough Therapy Designation for the investigational oral agent ibrutinib as monotherapy for the treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia or small lymphocytic lymphoma patients with deletion of the short arm of chromosome 17 (deletion 17p).
Approximately 80% of all sensory input is received via the eyes, so suffering from chronic retinal diseases that lead to blindness causes a significant decrease in the quality of life (QOL).
