A team from the Centre for Health Services Studies (CHSS), University of Kent, and East Kent Hospitals Trust is to undertake a study on the information needs of stroke survivors and their families in Kent.
Doing some simple homework before receiving medical treatment may help consumers save money, The Associated Press reports. "Here are some things to consider before checking in to a hospital or outpatient surgery center for non-emergency care. Be prepared to ask your doctor or insurer questions."
CHARGE syndrome* is a severe developmental disorder affecting multiple organs. It affects 1 in 8500 newborns worldwide. The majority of patients carry a mutation in a gene called CHD7. How this single mutation leads to the broad spectrum of characteristic CHARGE symptoms has been a mystery.
BioTime, Inc. announced today that it is commencing a warrant discount offer under which it will permit holders of its common share purchase warrants expiring October 31, 2010 to exercise their warrants at a discounted price of $1.818 per share, which represents a discount of $0.182 from the regular warrant exercise price of $2.00 per share.
