A scientific indicator of how easily distracted you are has been designed by a UCL (University College London) psychologist. It could be used as another assessment tool during the recruitment process and would have particular benefits in fields where employee distraction could lead to fatal errors.
Promoting healthy gut microbiota, the bacteria that live in the intestine, can help treat or prevent metabolic syndrome, a combination of risk factors that increases a person's risk for heart disease, diabetes and stroke, according to researchers at Georgia State University and Cornell University.
New research from the University of East Anglia (UEA) shows that, surprisingly, patients' physical activity does not increase following hip replacement surgery.
The research has discovered a link between a vital pumping system that does not function correctly in people with cystic fibrosis and the parasite Toxoplasma.
The Government defended the situation saying the $25 million Smart Road Super Clinic is not yet fully open. It has social workers and a dietitian already though. SA Health Minister John Hill said construction would not be finished until next year so only a small section of the clinic was open. He said, "We're expecting all of the remaining services to be arranged so that when the building is opened some time next year, all of the services will be available."
