In support of Rare Disease Day 2010, set for February 28, Lundbeck Inc. today launched the Raise Your Hand to Fight Rare Diseases campaign. The web-based initiative is designed to generate support for people with rare diseases and is being conducted in partnership with the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD), the sponsor of Rare Disease Day in the United States.
Sphere Medical, innovator in critical care monitoring and diagnostics equipment, will be exhibiting for the first time in The Netherlands its new patient dedicated arterial blood gas system. Attendees of the NVIC (Dutch Intensive Care Society) Najaarscongres 2015, in Utrecht from 17-18th September will be able to find out how the new Proxima System supports rapid and frequent measurements without leaving the patient's bedside.
Researchers at Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute have led a preclinical study demonstrating that the drug palovarotene suppresses the formation of bony tumors (osteochondromas) in models of multiple hereditary exostoses (MHE).
It is well known that survivors of breast cancer have a much higher risk of developing a second breast cancer than women in the general population have of developing a first breast cancer. However, little is known about what lifestyle factors may make survivors more vulnerable to a second cancer.
