Five- and 10-year survival rates for patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma appear to have increased from the 1990s to the early 21st century, according to a report in the March 10 issue of Archives of Internal Medicine.
Malaysia's beauty contact lens market is fast catching up with developed countries in the region such as Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea, which are all exhibiting similar upward trending in the sales of these beauty accessories. GfK retail tracking reported Malaysians spending a total of nearly USD 55 million on contact lenses in 2011, of which 28 percent was contributed by the beauty segment.
In the United States, Black women are more likely to have breast cancer at earlier ages and with a worse prognosis than white women. Despite this, there is a critical gap in breast cancer risk prediction models for Black women.
Amgen, the largest standalone biotechnology company, and generic drug firm Watson Pharmaceuticals will collaborate on developing biosimilar drugs for cancer.
A new study shows that a large majority of patients who present with advanced colorectal cancer that has spread to other organs (stage IV) don't require immediate surgery to remove the primary tumor in the colon. Researchers from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) presented their data at the American Society of Clinical Oncology Annual Meeting.
