People with a history of cancer have a 40 percent greater likelihood of experiencing memory problems that interfere with daily functioning, compared with those who have not had cancer, according to results of a new, large study.

A new study from the HSE University researchers Elena Gorbunova and Maria Falikman reveals that when reading off a screen, an individual tends to comprehend the words on the right side of the screen faster than those on the left. The processing speed of the information of the brain also depends on the amount of information presented on the screen explain the researchers. The study titled, "Visual Search for Letters in the Right Versus Left Visual Hemifields," was published in the journal, Advances in Cognitive Psychology.

Japanese Patent granted for Pharmalink AB's Nefecon

Pharmalink AB announced today that it has been granted Japanese Patent No 4326696, "Methods and means for treating glomerulonephritis" for its product Nefecon(R) which is being developed to treat IgA nephropathy, a glomerulonephritis leading to end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Counterparts of the patent have been issued for other territories including the EU, US and China.

Blood tests may decrease wait time between diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer

A study from Gundersen Health System, La Crosse, Wisconsin, reveals to the value of blood-based genomic and proteomic testing in patients with lung cancer at the time of initial diagnoses.
