John DeLuca, PhD, VP for Research at Kessler Foundation, will conduct a teleconference, "Where is my Memory? Cognitive Changes in MS," on Tues., January 24, 6:30-7:30 pm. Dr. DeLuca is well known for his neuropsychology research in cognition and multiple sclerosis and is a licensed psychologist in New Jersey and New York.
New research co-published by Saint Louis University and Express Scripts, Inc., suggests that men with multiple sclerosis may require more education and support to manage their disease and therapy than women with MS. Men also may benefit from more targeted adherence interventions.
The research shows that people with particular variations in a stretch of DNA within the FTO gene, called intron 8, could be at greater risk of developing melanoma.
Erbitux (cetuximab), offers another option for patients who have colorectal cancer that resists standard chemotherapy treatment, according to an article written by two Mayo Clinic cancer researchers published in the current edition of the New England Journal of Medicine.
