Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, the leading advocacy organization working to end Duchenne muscular dystrophy (Duchenne) and Santhera Pharmaceuticals, a Swiss specialty pharmaceutical company focusing on the development and marketing of innovative pharmaceutical products for the treatment of mitochondrial and neuromuscular diseases, will collaborate on a benefit/risk study in Duchenne.
The Quebec Division of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada is delighted to be able to count on the Fondation Jacques-F. Gougoux in improving the quality of life for people with multiple sclerosis and their families. A donation of $57,386, spread over 15 years, will enable the MS Society to make some of its services more accessible.
Florida Atlantic University's Charles E.Schmidt College of Medicine recently closed its application process for the second round of admissions to its new medical school. The college has received nearly 3,000 applications from prospective students in Florida and throughout the country for 64 positions in its next class, doubling the number of applications received from the previous year for the inaugural class.
Yale School of Public Health researchers have developed a new method to predict likely resistance paths to cancer therapeutics, and a methodology to apply it to one of the most frequent cancer-causing genes.
