The annual Century for the Cure bike ride that has raised more than $1 million since 2005 for research at The Cancer Institute of New Jersey is now making it possible for new scientific exploration in the area of hematologic malignancies.
A new study from researchers at the Stanford University School of Medicine has identified a unique protein complex that can be used to predict whether an epidural steroid injection will help relieve pain caused by a herniated disc in the lower spine.
Ipsen, an innovation-driven global specialty pharmaceutical group, today announced that its partner Roche has disclosed headline results of the fourth and fifth of eight T-emerge phase III studies in patients with diabetes for taspoglutide, the first once weekly glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) analogue based on a human sequence.
A team of researchers at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions in Baltimore, Md., reports that whole-body positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) scans may help physicians identify new, unexpected malignant cancerous tumors in patients, according to an article in the May issue of the Society of Nuclear Medicine's Journal of Nuclear Medicine.
