The Centre for Health Services Studies (CHSS) at the University of Kent, England is currently engaged in an exploratory study of the information and support needs for men aged 75+ with prostate cancer.
The University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS) today announced a new two-year contract to continue to provide newborn screening services to the state of Maine.
Prom season and summer approach, and with them teenage girls seeking suntans. New research published in the May issue of Pediatrics finds that the number of children diagnosed with melanoma has increased an average 2% a year since the 1970s, with the incidence of melanoma significantly higher among white girls, age 15-19, than among boys and younger children.
A new genetic resource from an international research consortium is expected to accelerate the development of new cures and treatments for a wide range of human diseases. This project, called the mouse "Collaborative Cross" (CC) resource, will increase the likelihood that experiments conducted in mice will advance our understanding of human biology.
