Circassia Ltd, a specialty biopharmaceutical company focused on allergy, today announced that it has acquired the worldwide development and commercialization rights to the novel topical therapeutic for psoriasis and atopic dermatitis, PAP-1. GeneNews Limited, a company focused on developing simple blood-based biomarker tests for the early detection of diseases and personalized health management, today announced it has signed an agreement with an Asian Biomedical consortium to develop blood-based biomarkers for the detection and management of prostate diseases.
Caudate hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has a poorer prognosis than HCC originating from other lobes, due to its proximity to the portal trunk and inferior vena cava, which facilitate intrahepatic and systemic spread early in the disease. Hepatic resection is considered, in principle, to be the first choice treatment. In order to improve surgical outcome, it is necessary to evaluate the potential risk factors affecting long-term survival and to establish guidelines for the appropriate use of hepatectomy for caudate lobectomy.
Serrated colorectal polyps include the subgroups hyperplastic polyps, sessile serrated polyps (also called sessile serrated adenomas), and serrated adenomas. Recent studies have found that serrated polyps share molecular features with a subgroup of colon cancers, leading to the hypothesis that serrated polyps can be precursors of cancer through a hyperplastic polyp to serrated adenoma to cancer sequence.
