Patients are more likely to die after common surgical procedures when they are cared for in hospitals with heavier nurse workloads and fewer nurses with bachelor's degrees, concludes the largest investigation of nursing and hospital outcomes in Europe to date, published in The Lancet.
S*BIO Pte Ltd today announced that results from a Phase 2 study demonstrated that its JAK2 inhibitor pacritinib (SB1518) effectively reduced splenomegaly in myelofibrosis (MF) patients, with minimal impact on existing cytopenias providing an important therapeutic niche in the treatment of MF. Results were presented at the 53rd ASH Annual Meeting and Exposition in San Diego.
There has been a confirmed case of Ebola in the Mbandaka city of Congo that has a population of 1.2 million. This is the first urban case in the latest outbreak and is being considered to be one of the most serious ones in recent times. The last major outbreaks have affected people across West Africa between 2014 and 2016.
Ensuring the health and safety of student athletes is a top priority at Texas A&M, especially in the Department of Health and Kinesiology and the Health Science Center College of Medicine.
