Healthcare providers realize that new technologies have to be adopted to improve their business, but the medical benefits of technology also are clearly in their sights, according to CompTIA's Healthcare IT Market: Insights and Opportunities study.
Shelter-in-place orders to reduce the spread of COVID-19 put unusual strains on people with obesity, making it more difficult for them to eat properly and manage their weight, according to a UT Southwestern study.
Major disparities exist along racial and ethnic lines in the United States for various medical conditions, but guidance is scarce about how to reduce these gaps. Now, a new "roadmap" has been unveiled to give organizations expert guidance on how to improve health equity in their own patient populations.
In Austria every year approx. 1,500 postmenopausal patients, that is, after the climacteric period, are affected by stage II breast cancer. This means that in these women tumour cells have already been found in the lymph nodes and that the risk of metastases appearing in the future course of the illness is significantly increased.
This study, published in the journal Cells, is based on others (all of which employed experimental models) previously conducted by researchers at the Biomedical Research Centre of the University of Granada, the ‘López-Neyra' Institute of Parasitology and Biomedicine, and the ‘Virgen de las Nieves' University Hospital in Granada
