Roche announced today that it has received approval from the U.S. Department of Defense to provide remote service and support for its lab analyzers at Womack Army Medical Center through the DOD's secure B2B gateway. Roche is the first in-vitro diagnostics manufacturer to be approved by the DOD for this remote access.
The longer the period of time a child is bullied, the more severe and lasting the impact on a child's health, according to a new study from Boston Children's Hospital published online Feb. 17 in Pediatrics. The study is the first to examine the compounding effects of bullying from elementary school to high school.
Global health advocates today commemorated the fifth annual World Pneumonia Day by calling on global leaders to scale up existing interventions and invest in new diagnostics and treatments to defeat pneumonia. Each year, pneumonia kills more children than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined. Pneumonia took the lives of nearly 1.1 million children under 5 in 2012 alone, with more than 99 percent of these deaths in developing countries, where access to healthcare facilities and treatment is out of reach for many children.
Press Ganey Associates today announced it has developed a comprehensive transplant inpatient survey and an outpatient survey for use by transplant programs across the country. The surveys' questions were developed by researchers and practitioners from Press Ganey with insight from the United Network for Organ Sharing's (UNOS) Transplant Administrators Committee (TAC - which consists of elected transplant administrators representing transplant centers, members of UNOS, in the United States).
