New research shows higher levels of vitamin D may help improve survival for both bowel and skin cancer patients.
Modified mRNA combined with lipid nanoparticles may be beneficial in boosting adaptive immunity against SARS-CoV-2. Research led by Botond Z. Igyártó from Thomas Jefferson University's Department of Microbiology and Immunology in Pennsylvania recently found that the lipid nanoparticles induce protective adaptive immune responses with antibody titers against lethal doses of the virus.
An experimental vaccine was found to effectively protect young children from malaria in Mali, Reuters reports. According to the news service, "The vaccine, which uses an immune system booster called an adjuvant from British drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline, targets the malaria parasite as it is actively infecting red blood cells and causing fever and illness" (Steenhuysen, 2/3).
Irvine Scientific, a member of JX Holdings group, announced today the opening of a new Industrial Cell Culture media production facility in Tokyo, Japan. The new facility, located in Saitama prefecture, will manufacture the Company's cell culture media for production of biopharmaceuticals, vaccines, monoclonal antibodies and other media's used in pharmaceuticals, medicines, and research. The facility is being commissioned and validated as completely animal component free manufacturing facility.
