Numerous studies have shown a relationship between coping strategies and quality of life (QOL) among women with breast cancer. In a study published today in the online edition of Journal of Behavioral Medicine, an investigation of coping strategies and quality of life among younger women with breast cancer suggests that QOL determines the use of coping strategies.
Andrew Witty, Chief Executive of GlaxoSmithKline, today announced a series of new initiatives targeted at further transforming the company's approach to diseases that disproportionately affect the world's poorest countries. His announcements build on commitments made in 2009 to work in partnership, expand access to medicines and encourage new research into neglected tropical diseases.
Researchers from Australia have found that the rate of gastroesophageal reflux disease is twice as high in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or bronchiectasis as in people without lung disease.
Sagent Pharmaceuticals announced the upsizing and pricing of its initial public offering. The size of the offering has been increased from the previously announced 5,000,000 shares of common stock to 5,750,000 shares of common stock at a price to the public of $16.00 per share.
