College students may realize that texting in the shower or at a funeral is inappropriate, but many do it anyway, according to Penn State psychologists.
A potentially life-threatening challenge characterized by pauses in breathing that can last for more than 20 seconds, apnea of prematurity (AOP) affects more than 50 percent of premature infants and is almost universal in the smallest of preemies. Caused in part by an underdeveloped central nervous system that can't adequately regulate breathing outside of the womb, especially during sleep, AOP is not yet fully understood by scientists and remains a grave concern among neonatologists and parents alike.
Neuros Medical, Inc., a medical device company announced today initial feasibility study results of their patented high frequency alternating current (HFAC) Nerve Block technology from their first patient. The study is a short-term, 30-day test per patient, focusing on chronic residual limb pain. Nearly one million patients suffer from chronic residual limb pain in the U.S.
A new study by researchers at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute identifies a substance released by pancreatic cancer cells that protect them from attack by immune cells called macrophages.
