Angion Biomedica Corp. announced today the establishment of an alliance with Duke University and Massachusetts General Hospital to pursue advanced development and clinical studies of its lead therapeutics for treatment of ischemic stroke.
Abiomed, Inc., a leading provider of breakthrough heart support technologies, today announced it has received conditional approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to begin MINI-AMI, a prospective, randomized, controlled multi-site trial to assess the potential role of the Impella 2.5 in reducing infarct size in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).
Ipsen, a global biopharmaceutical group, today announced that its partner Roche today announced the implementation of a risk mitigation plan in the taspoglutide Phase III programme. Taspoglutide, the first once weekly glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) analogue based on a human sequence, originating from Ipsen's research is developed by Roche. This compound is similar to the natural hormone GLP-1 which has a key role in blood sugar regulation.
The findings in mice further suggest that particular variants of the protein SH2-B might underlie obesity in humans, the researchers said.
