On Friday, First Lady Michelle Obama and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius will be joined by several high-ranking HHS officials to announce the release of new grants for communities to support public health efforts in preventing obesity and tobacco use while improving nutrition and increasing physical activity among the American people.
A new study funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) finds that not only childless women but also mothers of five or more children, teenage mothers and mothers who have children with less than an 18 month gap between births all have higher risks of death and poor health later in life.
Membranes that allow certain molecules to quickly pass through while blocking others are key enablers for energy technologies from batteries and fuel cells to resource refinement and water purification.
Researchers participate in the Electronic Data Methods (EDM) Forum to maximize shared experiences and learning for using electronic clinical data to improve medical care and making informed health decisions.
