CryoConcepts, LP is announcing the introduction of the first disposable, nitrous oxide-based cryosurgical device to physicians in the US and abroad. The pen-shaped device is called CryOmega® and tests have shown the unit is clinically effective and provides pinpoint accuracy at freezing temperatures of -89C.
On the surface they appear unaffected, but people who have mild strokes may live with hidden disabilities, including depression, vision problems and difficulty thinking, according to a study released today at the Canadian Stroke Congress.
New research from the University at Buffalo suggests that cardiologists may have a new way to identify patients who are at the highest risk of sudden cardiac arrest, and the most likely to benefit from receiving an implantable cardiac defibrillator (ICD).
