The Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research (MSFHR) is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2010/11 research scholar and trainee funding competitions. Of the more than 300 applicants, MSFHR has funded 95 individuals working in diverse fields of health research.
Since 1976, the Framingham Heart Study (FHS)-the longest running multi-generational epidemiological study in the world-has followed participants for incident dementia.
The New England Journal of Medicine published today a study entitled "Mass Treatment with Single-Dose Azithromycin for Trachoma."
Republicans already are demonstrating their strategy to use the health law decision in the upcoming campaign season. Meanwhile, both parties are raising money on the issue.
Eczema caused by defects in the skin could reduce the risk of developing skin cancer, according to new research by King's College London. The immune response triggered by eczema could help prevent tumour formation by shedding potentially cancerous cells from the skin.
