Psychologists at the University of Southampton are about to embark on a study that aims to develop a new approach to the treatment of self-harm, a condition which is now reported to affect as many of 13 per cent of young people and adults.
Australian health care company Prima BioMed Ltd announced today that there has been an agreement for strategy and design of the Phase III clinical registration trial for the CVac™ immunotherapy therapeutic ovarian cancer vaccine.
In a recent New York Times article, the American Cancer Society (ACS) ignited a major controversy over the benefits of cancer screening, specifically with regards to their breast and prostate cancer guidelines. In the article, Dr. Otis Brawley, chief medical officer of the ACS, responded to a study in the current issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association.
The scientific consensus is that safe and highly effective vaccines are required to end the ongoing pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 COVID-19, caused by SARS-CoV-2. A new study describes a new vaccine that presents two viral antigens to the human immune system, in order to elicit a more efficacious response.
In a post on the State Department's "DipNote" blog, Krysten Carrera, a Presidential Management Fellow in the Bureau of International Organization Affairs, discusses why non-communicable diseases "represent an urgent and growing threat to global public health".
