A new study, presented today at the AATS 101st Annual Meeting, found that heart transplantation using donation after cardiac death (DCD) with normothermic regional perfusion (NRP) is feasible in the United States.
Icagen, Inc. today announced that due to the occurrence of a serious adverse event in the photosensitivity study of ICA-105665, the Company has suspended further enrollment in the study. The serious adverse event occurred in the 600mg patient cohort following completion of the 500mg patient cohort.
Cooked ham could soon be given a 39 day shelf life, according to scientists speaking today (Tuesday 4 September 2007) at the Society for General Microbiology¡¦s 161st Meeting at the University of Edinburgh, UK, which runs from 3-6 September 2007.
Results from a pre-specified interim analysis of a randomized, placebo-controlled Phase 3 study, COU-AA-301, demonstrate that patients treated with the investigational agent abiraterone acetate plus low-dose prednisone/prednisolone showed a significant improvement in overall survival compared to patients treated with prednisone/prednisolone plus placebo.
