Women who were highly exposed to ultra-fine particles in air pollution during their pregnancy were more likely to have children who developed asthma, according to a study published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine in May.

NPS Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company developing therapeutics for rare gastrointestinal and endocrine disorders, today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has notified the Company that its New Drug Application (NDA) for Gattex (teduglutide) will be discussed at the Gastrointestinal Drugs Advisory Committee meeting scheduled for October 16, 2012.
More than half of patients with a first episode of psychosis achieve symptomatic remission after 2 years of treatment, but recovery rates are lower, results from a Singaporean study show.
