Scientists of the Max Delbr-ck Center for Molecular Medicine Berlin-Buch have demonstrated for the first time that a gene regulating neuronal cell migration during embryogenesis also plays a role in the development of the liver.
Patients with both type 1 diabetes and CKD have an increased risk of adverse outcomes. Despite aggressive treatment, many patients with type 1 diabetes and overt nephropathy develop End-Stage Renal Disease and/or succumb to a premature death. The competing risks of death and ESRD may confound the estimates of risk for each outcome.

None have been conclusively tied to melanoma. The sheer abundance of these passenger mutations has obscured the search for genetic driver mutations that actually matter in melanoma development and progression.
