Pfizer on Thursday announced a new program that would provide some of its existing customers access to more than 70 types of medications at no cost if they have recently been laid off or lost their prescription drug coverage, USA Today reports. The program - called MAINTAIN, or Medicines Assistance for Those who Are in Need - will begin July 1.
W. L. Gore & Associates (Gore) today reported the first clinical use in the U.S. of the GORE® VIABAHN® Endoprosthesis with Heparin Bioactive Surface on a lower profile delivery system. The GORE VIABAHN Device is designed to percutaneously treat Superficial Femoral Artery (SFA) and iliac peripheral artery disease by relining the native vessel.
In a major international trial, researchers from McMaster University in Canada, found that the hypertension drug irbesartan reduced the risk of heart failure complications and the combination of stroke, other embolic events and transient ischemic events, also known as ministrokes, in patients with atrial fibrillation.
A pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) regimen containing an investigational long-acting form of the HIV drug cabotegravir injected once every 8 weeks was more effective than daily oral Truvada at preventing HIV acquisition among cisgender men who have sex with men and transgender women who have sex with men in a clinical trial sponsored by the National Institutes of Health.
When riding your bike to the store you might have two very different reasons to steer: plain old reflex when you something dart into your path, or executive control when you see street signs that indicate the correct route.
