More than half of the 2.6 million Iraq and Afghanistan veterans say they struggle with physical or mental health problems as a result of their service and feel detached from civilian life, according to a poll conducted by The Washington Post and the Kaiser Family Foundation.
The American Academy of Dermatology aims to paint the nation orange this May by asking the public to wear orange in support of skin cancer awareness on Melanoma Monday, May 6.
Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, a division of Wyeth, and Santaris Pharma have announced that the companies have entered into a worldwide strategic alliance to discover, develop and commercialize new medicines based on Santaris Pharma's proprietary Locked Nucleic Acid (LNA) drug platform, which allows specific targeting and regulation of microRNAs (miRNAs) and messenger RNAs (mRNAs) as a means to affect gene expression mediated by the targeted RNAs.
In March 2002, Brown University researchers published an astounding piece of science. Three rhesus monkeys, they reported, could control a computer cursor without their hands. They used their minds instead.
Pregnant women with opioid use disorder (OUD) are more likely to receive evidence-based treatment with an "opioid agonist"- usually methadone- in states where those medications are covered by Medicaid, reports a study in the December issue of Medical Care, published by Wolters Kluwer.
