The Federation of State Medical Boards announced that it has recently been certified for a second time by the National Committee for Quality Assurance. The FSMB, which received its initial NCQA Certification in 2012, is certified under NCQA's Credentials Verification Organization Certification Program for the following credentials elements: Education and Training, Ongoing Monitoring of Sanctions, Medicare/Medicaid Sanctions, and Medical Board Sanctions.
The clinical data from 167 patients who underwent abdominal debrancing combined with aortic stent grafts (ADSG) at 12 centers in North America from1999-2010 were released today at the 65th Vascular Annual MeetingĀ® presented by the Society for Vascular Surgery.
According to opposition Leader Tony Abbott, the coalition's aged care policy will be suffering a cash crunch. The aged-care sector is critically underfunded and needs more than $50 billion to deal with the increased demand from an ageing population say the Aged Care Association. Mr. Abbott said, "I want to caution people against expecting enormous dollars." Although he said some very important sectors in the aging population would be addressed but, "It would be a lot easier to help in so many areas if we hadn't been on such a poorly targeted spending spree from this government."
Researchers have previously been able to analyse which sugar structures are to be found on certain proteins, but not exactly where on the protein they are positioned. This is now possible thanks to a new technique developed at the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
Dormant prostate cancer cells in bone tissue can be reawakened to cause secondary tumours, according to new research published in Endocrine-Related Cancer. Targeting the wake-up call could prevent metastasis and improve prostate cancer survival rates.
