Researchers at Cedars-Sinai's Maxine Dunitz Neurosurgical Institute have employed a strategy using a mouse model to target important mechanisms inside the most challenging breast cancer cells. Earlier studies at Cedars-Sinai found a similar approach effective in attacking malignant brain tumor targets.
Of the 151 largest cities across the United States, only Philadelphia and New York City have legislation that protects a nursing mother who returns to work outside the home and who wants to continue breastfeeding, according to research from the University of Pennsylvania and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia published in Breastfeeding Medicine.
Despite the fact that some previous studies have suggested that folate supplementation may help to prevent colorectal cancer, a new study says that is not the case and it may in fact increase the risk for some types of colorectal tumors.
