An international research consortium led by investigators at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and the University of Chicago has answered several questions about the genetic background of obsessive-compulsive disorder and Tourette syndrome, providing the first direct confirmation that both are highly heritable and also revealing major differences between the underlying genetic makeup of the disorders.
Despite widespread use of mouthwashes, breath mints, sprays, chewing gums and mechanical tongue cleaning, research is inconclusive about which method is most effective at attacking bad breath, investigators conclude in a new review of clinical studies.
Data from the international, multi-center, open-label, two-part, single-arm Phase 2 MMY2002 (SIRIUS) trial show treatment with single-agent daratumumab – an investigational, human anti-CD38 monoclonal antibody – achieved an overall response rate (ORR) of 29.2 percent (95% CI, 20.8-38.9), as assessed by an independent review committee, in heavily pre-treated patients with multiple myeloma.
High-deductible health plans could lead people - especially children in low-income families - to forgo or delay health care, according to a policy statement by the American Academy of Pediatrics published on Monday in Pediatrics, Reuters reports.
Half of individuals enrolled in consumer-directed plans said they would switch out of the plans if given the opportunity, while about one-third of enrollees in more traditional employer-sponsored health plans said they would change their coverage if they had the chance, according to a survey released on Thursday.
